10.5.3 wont update on Air

Help! I used software update and when I restart my computer it stalls on configuring update. What should i do???

go to the apple downloads site and download the 10.5.3 Combo Update

The computer won't boot? Do you have a superdrive and have you tried booting from the install disk and then running disk utility to repair your HD?

thanks for the advice im downloading the combo update now, so we'll see how that works!! just curious why its 536 mb compared to the 420 mb I downloaded yesterday and also where can I find the 420 mb file so I can free up some system space...whew longest post ever any advice would be useful! thanks a lot!
