Any iPad Pro 10.5” got theirs and it feels kinda heavy to hold? I don’t mind it at all, used to holding the 12.9”, it just kinda caught me by surprise.

Yeah, I came from a 9.7" Pro and I noticed the difference in weight almost straight away despite it only being 32g heavier. Not a big deal tho.

Feels quite heavy with the Smart Keyboard. Much lighter with the Smart Cover. This is proving to be a bit of a deal breaker for the keyboard tbh,

Oh that sucks. I don’t have any accessories yet and was looking into getting the Smart Keyboard. Guess I will try it out at the store first and see how I feel.

I’ve upgraded from a mini 4 so everything is too big and heavy.

I’m sure I’ll be used to it in a few days. I had an Air before the mini so it’s not totally new.

The pro is about 620g with the case I found on eBay.

The 10.5 weighs a pound, folks have to decide if they can deal with the Smart Keyboard. It ain't the iPad that is heavy.

Did you guys ever try the first generation iPads? Those where thick, awkward things that had some weight.
When it comes to heavy portable electronics,my now scrapped 17 inch Alienware laptop sure was a behemoth to move around. When bringing it with me,I had two questions..."where is my forklift? Will I be able to get it into my car?" Jokes aside,a 6 kilo laptop was not exactly what I call portable.

It's amazing people are whining over a device that weighs in at one pound. One pound. Wow, as if carrying a device that's 1.5 pounds (with covers, etc) is difficult. My 10.5" is arriving tomorrow morning. Looking forward to holding a device that's only a pound heavy. I used to have laptops that weighted ten pounds.

I think were slightly spoiled in today's world of technology and what's considered heavy. Especially when you consider how thin and ultimately light the new iPad is. Even the 12.9 iPad, as large as it is, is extremely portable compared to years ago with 15 inch/17 inch laptops we carried around that weighed significantly more.

Part Of that, is because consumers now have expectations of where hardware is currently and how thin it is, and they expect it to either retain its current weight or continually be reduced.

The iPad Pro is my secondary device and I don't need/want to carry a keyboard all the time. Added weight and bulk is an unnecessary compromise. I am returning the Apple smart keyboard and using a Smart Cover now.

I have also ordered this for the times when I do need a keyboard with my iPad Pro. https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00OK49SMI/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

It is not heavy in the grand scale of things. I just personally find the attached smart keyboard's added bulk and weight annoying when using it on the train or standing outside somewhere. Smart Cover works better for my own needs/preferences.

No right or wrong answer here, folks! Just what you like/want/expect from your tech.

Depends on usage. If you're just lugging it around inside a bag, 1.5 pounds isn't bad.

If you're holding it for hours on end while reading, then yeah, it gets heavy, particularly when you have carpal tunnel and tennis elbow.

That’s weird. I feel like there’s little difference at all between my 9.7 and my 10.5. Granted I have a screen protector on my 9.7 so I’m sure that added a little weight. Non-factor for me...but that promotion. Woowee silky smoooth!

Again, no one was whining. As people have been saying, the little extra weight caught some of us by surprise. Stop whining.

Agreed, the laptop I described, would in American units weigh in at 14 pounds.

Even with the 1 pound iPad, it doesn't make sense to use it for long periods of time without resting it on something. Unwieldy to hold and puts undue stress on your hands/arms.

Yep. The weight is what I love most about the iPad mini (~300g) but the Kindle still has it beat on that front. I've had a Kindle Oasis on my wishlist since its announcement. Just can't justify the price point given I often opt for the convenience of iPads over the comfort of dedicated e-ink readers.

I have a case on my iPad because it acts as stand on flat surfaces. Also, the case adds friction so the device doesn't just slide off pillows, etc. Makes the device heavier but at least I don't have to actually carry the entire weight while using.

I never owned the 9.7 Pro, when I held the 10.7 in the store and compared it to that one I felt the 10.5 was just so good to hold more so than the 9.7.

Regardless, my previous IPad was the 12.9 so this 10.5 is so much better to handle while doing things.

I wouldn't say it's heavy -- its' the same weight at the 9.7. It's more like a unbalanced feeling, at least when one handing it like a phone. That was my perception of it when I test drove it today. Everything about the 10.5 is pretty amazing but, at least to my small hands, it felt a little awkward to hold like an anxious animal wanting to jump away. Of course when I look at my 9.7 Pro now it seems so "old" because of the bezels, but it fits my hands better. In all fairness, the 10.5 is at the bottom of my expensive item "want" list now, so that could play into it. I think it's something to get used to but we will.
