So GM doesnt seem ready to me - Getting kernel panics after reboot in all of the following scenarios...

1. upgrade from beta to GM
2. upgrade from 10.6 to GM
3. Fresh install of GM

What a piece of junk. Going to have to wait until they fix this little/BIG issue.

Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; U; CPU iPhone OS 4_3_3 like Mac OS X; fr-fr) AppleWebKit/533.17.9 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/5.0.2 Mobile/8J2 Safari/6533.18.5)

Have you made any hardware changes to the computer after purchasing it (new hard drive, ram, etc)? Sometimes those can cause instabilities.

My KP's

I got a KP when upgrading from version 2 to 4 and from 4 to GM.
I still cannot empty my trash bin without getting one.

My stupid Paragon NTFS doesnt work right with my external drives at all. It worked fine in Beta 2.

I haven't had any KP or bugs. Maybe you have incompatible software or hardware installed that's causing the problems. If you can, do another clean install of GM and use Lion without installing any new software to see if it's Lion causing the problems. Then install new software one-at-a-time and test it out to see if that's causing the problem.

That or downgrade to Snow Leopard and wait for Lion 7.1 or 7.2 to fix compatibility problems. You can't expect software designed to run on Snow Leopard to run perfectly on Lion.

Kernel Panic

I had the same issue on clean machine and one with upgrade from SL while running DropBox, but w/o it all goes normal.

I did infact use the clean install of the GM without any additional installations or files and still got KP's. It does have a different drive and upgraded RAM, however a co worker has the same drive and is not receiving the KP and the RAM is within spec for this machine. i7 2.66, 8 gigs of ram, 500gb Hybrid drive. I had none of these issues on the Beta of 10.7 - only on the GM.

Which Mac do you have?

I did a fresh install of the GM, and no issues whatsoever, the crashes I got before with Developer Preview are all gone..

I had the same errors in my mid-2009 13" MacBook Pro. I had upgraded my machine to 8GB (2x4GB) of memory instead of the standard 2GB.

Apparently Lion didn't like this, and I'd get a kernel panic almost every single time I tried to install/run Lion.

I took out one stick, and everything worked perfectly. No panics. Tried using the other stick (to check if it was bad) and it also worked perfectly. Finally, I put both in to see what would happen (now that Lion had been safely installed) and everything seemed okay. I ran a memory test with TechTool Pro and it reported no errors with my memory. Unfortunately, the kernel panics started up again, so I took it out.

Tried again with my two old 1GB sticks and they worked perfectly, but when combined with any combination with a 4GB stick, the kernel panics would start again.

I'm not sure what exactly is going on, but I know my machine is stable so long as there's 4GB of memory or less in my machine. Hopefully my hardware isn't bad, and it's a software issue.

stripedsnake, try taking out a stick and see if it works.

Anybody else have this issue?

Kind of negates the point of a GM if anything over 4gb's is unstable... Kinda a big deal... Wont be using Lion at release if its taken a backstep from Beta to GM.
