Can anyone confirm that 10.8.2 fixes the wifi bug where the connection only holds for a very short time and then drops. Seems to be an issue related to old firmware with certain wifi routers that many people are having on ML. If anyone can confirm a fix that would be great!
Cheers,
M

After having issues for weeks losing my connection sometimes several times an hour I CAN CONFIRM that after upgrading to 10.8.1 I've not had the issue even once in almost 24 hours.

yes, 10.8.2 solves all wifi issues on rMBP. Including dropped signals and searching for signal when opening rMBP from sleep. The signal stays locked even when closed.

Anyone know how stable 10.8.2 is? I am really getting annoyed with this wifi issue and would like to install 10.8.2 to resolve it but not if it will make my rmbp very buggy.

Actually, I have had the same issue many times since I upgraded to Lion. Note that I had never noticed WiFi problems on Snow Leopard. Since I upgraded to Mountain Lion I have never noticed this problem. But, as soon as I downloaded OS X 10.8; I left for holidays so I didn't have the time to test the overall performance. Now, I am running 10.8.1 and those annoying connection losses seem to belong to past. So, I do not know if the problem was solved in 10.8 or 10.8.1, though what I know for sure is that Apple fixed it by releasing Mountain Lion. Also, the performance of my iMac is MUCH better. I think you'll be fine with 10.8.1, bro!

installed 10.8.2 and my wifi is still dropping randomly. Seems to drop sooner when i am running internet-heavy tasks such as watching a video or video chatting. How did yours get fixed? Desperately need an answer.

Internet dropped connections (not just Wi-Fi; Ethernet as well) have been plaguing OS X since at least Tiger, but that has only affected some computers. I don't know why that happens. A lot of people complained Lion was dropping Wi-Fi, but I was never able to see such a thing, and I had several computers running Lion. People used to say Snow Leopard never dropped a Wi-Fi connection, but I have a first-generation MacBook Pro that drops its Wi-Fi connection about once a week for no known reason. In the last few weeks before updating to Mountain Lion (via Chameleon), my Mac Pro 1,1 would drop its Ethernet connection every two or three days. Now, with Mountain Lion, it is perfectly stable.

I can only suggest that you repair permissions. Others have suggested deleting your Wi-Fi connection and creating a new one from scratch. Good luck.
