Just FYI if not reported earlier. 10.8.4 not able to use the Nvidia Web Driver. Toggles back to system driver. May not be an issue with most cards, Worth looking into just in case.

Only cared about 10.8.4 for the GTX Titan drivers. Since the new NVIDIA web driver took care of that, might hold off on the 10.8.4 update for now.

Any GTX Titan users install 10.8.4 yet?

Would hope that this would be addressed with a future update in the coming weeks, but the fact that the cards still appear to be working well with the stock drivers is a MAJOR plus. Seems like it's about a 2-3 week process from the time an update is released until new web drivers become available, even if it's not directly available in the most public way.

Would suggest that anyone looking to update CLONE their system drive prior to updating. It's simply the easiest way to quickly restore in case of an issue that you may encounter after the update.

For what it's worth, the GTX 680 "for Mac" version has (once again) been hard to find stock of in recent weeks. The usual retailers are backordered or simply not taking orders at this time. Most are saying 2-3 weeks, but Amazon is listed at 1-2 months.

Except this past go-around with 10.8.3. It was released by Apple mid-March, and the corresponding nVidia drivers were literally just released within the past couple of weeks. It took nVidia a lot longer than usual, probably because they were adding the preference panel and whatnot. Hopefully they're quicker with 10.8.4.

At one point beta versions of 10.8.4 were testing new graphics drivers, but whether they were for PCIe style Nvidia cards or not necessarily - who knows. Wonder what driver is being used natively in the 10.8.4 update and how it differs from previously released OS updates. Is it basically the same driver that Nvidia released (without the interface)?

Thanks Executor.

Any performance gaps you've noticed between 10.8.4 and 10.8.3 + NVIDIA web driver?
