10.8 GM Installation Quirk

I was installing the Mountain Lion GM (that I obtained legitimately fwiw) on my white unibody MacBook and let it run its course. After it said it was finished and the progress bar got filled up, it looked like this:

Negative time remaining.

Weird, right?

Finally, after it hit -10min remaining, it started over from halfway through the progress bar.

I have seen this happen in Lion as well. Was your clock set to the correct date?

The osx install breaks like that all the time,

its quite normal just if it takes more then 3 hours then something is messed

Mine got as far as -21 before jumping back to halfway (when I did an upgrade from 10.7.4 to DP4). No such nonsense with a clean install of the GM

funny my upgrade was fine, may be because im not a dev and I dont have lots of complex tools that can break things in a upgrade.

So, I guess for a user like me, I'd be fine,

Lion showed negative 200000 during a GM install for me once haha.

It also worked fine on my (i5) MBP.
