10 Billion reached!

It happened at about 2:27AM PST from what I can see.

As you can see at www.Apple.com the app store has reached 10Billion apps sold. Pretty crazy last few weeks, my app sales went up by almost 50% so its much appreciated.

Anyone up to see it happen? (Aside from Australia that is).

Yes, it didn't count to 10 billion but it just faded into "thank you"

I was going to record it, but didn't expect anything special...

It's 5:30 AM here in Canada. I noticed the count down was starting with 99999, and I knew it will just be a few minute till it reaches 10 billion. I pulled my iphone out and downloaded some random free app, and soon as I finished typing the password the animation appeared.

Looks like you are coming from a mobile but I was thinking that in iTunes it would be when it completes "Purchasing" and begins "Downloading". Just my guess.

I always thought the prize didn't actually go to the X billionth download, but rather those who downloaded something during the contest period...

Although to be safe when I saw it coming to an end I did go on an app spree, but was only able to download 10 before the cutoff.

Perhaps I should have read the contest rules
