The Apple Store
Hello,
I was looking at a nMP with an upgraded 10 core processor for $3,477.99

The Specs are:
INTEL XEON E5-2680 2.8GHz 10-CORE
16GB RAM
512GB SSD
AMD FirePro D500

It is used with only 606 hours on the machine, completely mint and still has AppleCare until November (apparently a processor upgrade does not impact warranty)

Is this a good price?

There's two views on warranty status:

http://blog.macsales.com/22230-owcs-mac-pro-2013-processor-upgrade-compatibility-testing

Personally, I'm inclined to agree with the first view. I take most everything OWC says with a large grain of salt, and avoid their products and services due to past experiences.

Note: I have upgraded the CPUs on my 5,1 Mac Pro (twice) and IMO, the first time I did it, I killed my warranty. But, I have been using Macs since 1986, and for the most part have found them to be bullet proof, so the loss of warranty was of little concern to me.
