Updated my camera's default settings to 10 Megapixels which should be a bit better than 4.4 Megapixels.

I’m looking forward to the I’ve upgraded to the largest RAW file my camera can thread. I think you’ve posted more threads in the photography section than the rest of us put together. Just post some images already. That’s what everyone is saying to you. The rest doesn’t matter.

But then he’d have to learn how to edit ?

Then why do you keep asking us questions??

and funny that multiple people over multiple threads have said how nice this group is compared to others.
I was not asking questions in this thread I was making a point that card readers are not entirely necessary. Re-read my OP.

It literally doesn’t matter to anyone here, and probably anywhere else, what your salary is which you felt necessary to post in one of these threads. To me you’ve had a chip on your shoulder about your camera and your workflow, megapixels and dongles since you started. Literally no one cares what your camera is or what your workflow is. You ask our opinions you will get them. If you don’t want those opinions, don’t ask them. Simple. If you’d like to learn something then ask. If you have a particular budget, just be clear. Everyone has one. If you’d like to contribute something that might be valuable in a discussion, then do so.

You’ve come into this community and completely ignored its simple guidelines and paid little if any attention to the flow of things here. You’ve listened not at all to the many requests by community members to post in the POTD thread and instead created a bunch of specialists threads. Specialist threads should really be created by consensus, not just whim. They may get more traction and add more value to more people that way. That was a conscious decision here, which you‘d have picked up if you’d just simply read even some recent discussions.

I’m a relative latecomer here but I try to understand the community and be respectful of its long history, the warm and friendly humans in it and the decisions community members before me have reached on how best to make this a friendly, welcoming space. I try and add to the many discussions, I try and share some images of mine I like and I spend plenty of time enjoying others’ images and styles. This is not hard. You are more than welcome here, truly, but please, enough with the outbursts, arguments and jabs.

You have posted exactly 18 images, and some of those are not photographic images but screen caps to illustrate some problem you were having.
As an aside and interestingly, I went to my profile to check my own media count, not something I’ve done previously, and it is...21. I don’t post nearly as much as I should, but I’ve posted more images than that in 9 years ?. I’m assuming because what I usually do is a link from Flickr or whatever service I happen to be using at any given time, it counts more as a “post” and not “media”. I learn something new every day.

hahaha, i have media ranked at 1,205. ? I always just host here and don't link to my site.

I've been on the internet so long I still have the fear of using my real name in message boards, and my website name is my name. ?

Media ranked at 454 . It's gotta be more than that . Maybe due to my linking from another site years back?

I think the media count and viewing thing has only available been since MR switched to Xenforo as its forum software, and even at that may not have been implemented when first starting with Xenforo. I'm enjoying it since I can quickly check my own media images to be sure I haven't already posted a given image in the POTD before going ahead with it.

In the past I used to hotlink from my Zenfolio gallery, but once we were using Xenforo and could simply upload directly from our own files in our computers I switched to that -- much more convenient! Since in the long-ago past I also posted images in the Digital Photography subforum before going through a period of being on hiatus from shooting, I know that in reality I've shared many more than the 1,039 listed currently, but that's fine -- it's just a number, like our post counts and reaction scores......

I have 1036 for media. If you click on the number, it will show you what everything was. You can sort it by ascending, so the first picture I ever shared was back in December of 2017.

Oh, now THAT's cool! I hadn't noticed the ability to use filters to sort....

The first photo that came up when I switched to Ascending: a red leaf, posted on November 5, 2005...... and the next photo was a photo of what was then my brand-new blue Acura RSX, posted in the Picture Gallery on November 24, 2005....... That year was also the year in which I joined MR and was using my first Mac, the Rev B G5 iMac. Ah, memories.....

I said goodbye to that little blue car this past October 2020 -- she was a delight to drive and I still kind of miss her, although of course I love my new one which replaced her.

So that answers the question, then, about the media and so the number of images shared is based on an accumulation over the years, not just when Xenforo became our forum software.

So I did a search using ascending order , and find that there's 8 years of posts missing . This is disturbing .... I know I'm missing maybe 2 or 3 weeks of my life , mostly due to poor choice of liquid refreshment while an undergrad , but 8 years?
