To celebrate the million raised by Jolla tablet in 48 hours, you can just go to the Jolla shop and get a phone for 100 euro less (80 euro if outside the EU). No tablet purchase necessary.

They already had some not widely publicized 100 euro social coupons in the last couple of months (100 euro for the new buyer, aloe back for the original one), but they expired.

This sale is limited too.

I would not expect them to replace the phone already.

I actually believe this is a clearance sale, most of their accessories have been out of stock since late summer, it doesn't look like they are making anymore.
If they have a new phone it will be announced in February at MWC.

The cover maker has stock, they just don't have the Jolla logo (but you can upload your own file), are like 1 euro cheaper, have free shipping in Europe, and more combinations.

I got the phone.

Nice small (i.e., eco) package with a geek touch.

Great minimalistic Nordic design, although the first impression is that it is a bit plasticky.

Beautiful GUI, especially the system update progress. Although they have to fix some text contrast issues in some places (people already reported this some time ago).

qHD at 4.5" does not look bad, even coming from the 4.2" Z10 at 1280x786 (let me read web pages a bit for a better assessment).

Great community collaboration site.

Switching platform is a bit of work, figuring out some things, finding and installing apps. I guess the average user is too lazy.

But I started all my important apps without problem, and actually used some. In fact, of the couple dozen Android apps I installed, none refused to start (no games).

Now it's time for some real world testing.

Stores used:

- Jolla (mostly the Jolla-made stuff)
- Amazon (almost everything was here)
- Opera Mobile Store (no need to register or install a store app, but the app I got was an older version and did not work properly, as it also happened to people on Android, so I got it from the next)
- Aptoide (only the Jolla substore)
- Mozilla FTP site

This thing actually has a shell terminal! (haven't tried it yet)
