Does anyone on here actually purchase 100% of their music via ITMS only? Just curious if people stopped buying CD's and just get the album from ITMS. Or do you guys think the quality is too low and not worth it?

I WOULD be 100% iTMS if it offered everything I wanted. It doesn't. Sadly. But I've been pretty much 90% iTMS for a couple years now.

I cannot afford itunes, none of my library is. I could not imagine spending a few thousand on music alone.
I would say since the iTMS was started, 50% of my new songs are from it. I got a bunch of gift cards for christmas so I have been using those lately to get all my music. I probably have a total of 400+ songs from the music store.
Only 14 items in my library from the ITMS, including some freebies.

I have 2,866 songs from iTMS, the rest being from CDs. I really love the convenience of iTMS and buy lots after listening to the samples and it's great to be able to have the music right now. That's probably why I buy so much from there It's ultra convenient and I love that.

As much as I love Apple, I refuse to buy anything other than the odd single from iTMS. The simple reason being that the bitrate of the songs is just not high enough added with the DRM restrictions. I can get the CD for the same, if not less than it costs through iTMS and I also benefit from the fact I can rip the CD at 320 Kbps+, thus ensuring higher quality and long term format independance through MP3.
The way I see it, because of DRM restrictions, who can guarantee your music collection will still work properly in 10 years time? At least MP3 is an unprotected format which should ensure its long term stability.
Don't get me wrong by the way, if iTMS offerred the option of high quality MP3 without DRM, I'd buy EVERYTHING from there without hesitation. I understand Apple has to implement Fairplay DRM to keep the music companies happy and to help minimise the competition from other MP3 Player manufacturers, but I wanted to make it known that DRM restrictions ARE driving away customers and eroding the rights of consumers.
However, DRM has been getting a very bad rap recently and has even started to feature on several BBC News Stories, and even on their website. Consumer groups are up in arms about it and several countries (Norway was the latest if I remember correctly) are ordering investigations into the practices of online music store DRM. Watch this space...

I only have about 80 purchased songs (some free) in my 4000+ library and have never bought an album from iTMS. I rather like having a huge line of CDs at home and then I can share my music easily or use it in the car.
only have 136 purchased songs out of 3000+. Lately I haven't been buying as much though. I used to not notice the quality but now I'v noticed that if I for example play purchased music through my APE to my stereo at a somewhat loud volume, the quality is noticeably bad.

Simply burn the music then re-rip the CD to strip the Fairplay DRM from iTMS files.
I find myself using iTMS more and more these days. I find it difficult to maintain purchasing albums now that im a student, so being able to dip into albums and choose what I want has its benefits.
