Can you guys reproduce these UI bugs? I guarantee you can.

First of all, have Screen Time widget ready on your Widgets. And clear Settings from your Task Switcher, just in case.

Here are the steps to reproduce the bugs:

1) Open Settings
2) Search “iCloud” on the Search bar, then tap iCloud from the search results. Wait until it finishes opening your iCloud storage stats.
3) Go back home (swipe up or press home button).
4) Go to your Widgets, tap Screen Time.

At this point, the OS will fail displaying your Screen Time and instead it will open your iCloud storage stats.

Let’s continue.

5) Swipe back twice from the iCloud storage stats, bringing you to the main Settings.

At this point, there will be x icon hovering on the top right of your screen when you scroll up and down the Settings.

6) Tap one of the sub-Settings (I chose General for this experiment).

7) Swipe back to the main Settings, and you’ll notice the Search Bar at the top is now gone.

Please let me know if you can successfully reproduce all of the bugs.

To recap, there will be 3 bugs you’ll find in the process:
1) Screen Time fails to open.
2) x icon keep hovering at the top right.
3) Search bar completely disappears.

If you can (and I guarantee you can, if you do every step correctly), can someone please report this to Apple?

I’m too lazy to do it haha. Thank you!

I was able to reproduce these steps on an XS Max on 12.1.

Thanks for sharing!
[doublepost=1542180824][/doublepost]I know these bugs and how to reproduce them from my cousin.

Long story short, he just moved from Android (Pixel One) to iOS (iPhone XR) and he’s not impressed so far with how iOS 12 performs.

He shared a lot of bugs with me, and the bugs on this thread is one that we can reproduce without fail (and yet noone has posted about this before).

And today TechnoBuffalo posted this video, saying that his experience with his iPhone XR has been rough.

Based on my cousin’s experience, I believe him. I dont know why but I found it quite embarassing since my cousin wanted to try out iOS because he expected iOS to be smoother and more stable than Android, only to find that it’s totally the opposite (according to him).

If these steps are something you normally do, you should report the bug to Apple if it's bothering you.

I haven't really come across any UI issues with iOS 12 in my day to day use.

Not to get into an Android vs iOS debate, but getting regular software updates from Apple is the norm. Your cousin might be overreacting to a minor UI glitch because he is used to owning phones where the software is not updated very often or for very long.

There are some other random bugs too which unfortunately we can’t reproduce. They’re bothersome and I’m just too lazy to report bugs to Apple. I posted this thread in hope that somebody will do it.

If I were him I would be dissapointed to find out what he found out. He was on Pixel so he was on Android P. And I would be disappointed too if it happened to me, but lucky my iPhone 7 Plus isn’t as buggy as his brand-new iPhone XR

I would expect iOS 12.1 bugs to be the same on both phones though.
I would too, who would’ve thought differently. But that TechnoBuffalo video might shed a light that iPhone XR might indeed be buggier than the rest of the range. Of course people’s experience may vary, but if he in his video says so, I 100% believe him as I see with my own eyes how buggy my cousin’s iPhone XR has been.

Are you serious? You take the time to post a step-by-step forum post on an Apple blog site but are too lazy to have either 1) posted this instead on bugreport.apple.com, or 2) copy-paste this on bugreport.apple.com, where actual APPLE ENGINEERS can see this (and potentially get it fixed), instead of a bunch of anonymous forum readers?

This is about one of the dumbest things I've seen here in a long time.

Yes I’m serious. The reason for this post is to let more anonymous forum readers know about this bug and thus more people will report it. Cos I doubt Apple engineers will take this seriously if only a few people report it.

I tried to report it before but there were lots of fields that I had to fill in like OS build numbers, config, attaching screenshots, etc. and I was too lazy to do it properly at that time. Choice is to do it properly or nothing at all.

So if you think this is just a matter of copy and paste to bugreport.apple.com, have you reported it yet? Or have you even tried to reproduce it yet?

Thanks and sorry for being one of the dumbest things you’ve seen on MacRumors in a long time.
