Something I noticed is that the 1000 nits (up to 1600) is only when displaying HDR content and that SDR content is shown in 600 nits (100 brighter than the Pro Display XDR - that display is 500 nits for SDR).
Do we know if developers can create HDR experiences outside of video? Can a drawing app for instance put the iPad into HDR mode?
I personally would love a HDR mode for when I’m working in sunlight and I want that display cranked to be able to see it better outside! I don’t think this will be a thing though.
Very excited to see how this new display behaves in real day to day usage!
