This morning I opened up my mail on my system using Monterey 12.1. Whenever I clicked on ANY message with a link, I got a popup saying '10673', This app can't be opened. This occurred in several messages. I closed and rebooted the computer (MacBook Pro) and then went back into the mail app and this time I no longer go the error message and I was able to going into any links.

Is your default web browser something other than Safari? You can read a couple of discussions (among others) out there about this and maybe some of that info will be useful to you. I can't vouch for the first site.

Edited: guess MR doesn't like that first link. You can find by searching for "mac error code 10673". It's the How to solve link.

I was reading about that issue…is it just a problem with iCloud-based email accounts and the Mail app?

In Mail I have an Exchange account and a bare-bones IMAP account, my default browser is Firefox and I haven't had that issue.

Hmm.
Maybe something removed is trying to access attachments?
You can try Rebuilding mailbox

Also, from Mail –> Preferences try to deactivate your account(s) then quit –> open preferences –> activate them, afterward click on something like get new mail/synchronise

Captain Obvious: you should update to 12.6 or downgrade to 11.7 :)
Thanks for the reply, but the same thing happened this morning and again, it was faxed by a reboot of the system. AND I do have 12.6.

Opera mail seems to have been discontinued a while back.
Better to move on to something else.
