I find it hard to believe that Apple left an open mini PCIe slot in the Apple TV. Is it not already used by the wireless card?

I guess this is an option for hobbyists that want to run nothing but Boxee/Plex.

Importantly, this could breath new life into GMA950 Minis with XBMC. Pull the 802.11g Airport card to seat the Broadcom, then either use ethernet or a USB 802.11n stick for wifi. If Plex could adopt the code for using the Broadcom chip, that'd be even better. Since the chip has hardware decoding of h.264, MPEG-2 and VC-1, all the Blu-ray codecs are covered. The only issue would be if XBMC/Plex could extract the audio cores on the fly fast enough to prevent stuttering.
