1080p video on 5k iMac.

I never realised till I got my new 5k iMac how bad it is for watching just HD video.

Is their anyway to change the resolution lower on iMac that makes HD video a bit more bearable?

I have the same issue. FHD video doesn't look very good in mine also. But I guess its because the 5k is so clear that it lets you see the FHD as "pixeled". Try sizing the window/video to match the size of the video pixel by pixel wise (1:1 ratio).
