Hi, I was wondering which USB port on the July 2010 iMac's is 10w? If any are at all that is.

Thanks.

Really? I thought I read somewhere that there was one at least due to the iPad requiring 10 watts to charge? Anyways thanks for your response!

According to wiki, USB spec carries 500-900ma at 5v, so that would be 2.5-4.5w on a single usb port. Unless i'm wrong, which is likely.

The iPad requires 10 watts to charge at the full charge speed. It can charge at 5 watts (which is the average USB port I just remembered), but at a slower rate.

You are thinking of the power AC power adapter that plugs into a wall. It provides 10w. Most Apple USB ports provide 5V, 500mA. Some newer Macs can provide up to 1100 mA at 5V.
V*A=W.
5V*500mA=2.5w.
5V*1100mA=5.5W
10W/5V=2200mA
