It has to do with the M1 being power hungry.I charged it fully this past Saturday. Screen at about 50% brightness. Since Saturday my screen time is about 5 hours only doing web surfing. I’m now at 14%. Isnt this very low for 5 hours of web surfing? Thanks for any input.
Great question. And the reason for my post. Is what I’m getting in terms of battery life normal? I know Apple claims about 10 hours but I didn’t take the other usage you mentioned into consideration. I don’t notice much of a drop in battery percentage when I’m not using it until when I pick it up again to use (usually about 8 hours). What’s your expectations for the power the device is supposed to be consuming when on standby, connected to your network, checking emails, looking for notifications etc, for five days in a row?
I don’t think this is possible. Can you change it to show total time on since last 100% charge? I only seem to find this for the past 24 hours. The only other alternative I have found is to manually add up the time.

6 hours SOT and you've only lost 19 %?! Can't believe that... Impossible ?I think a lot depends on what websites you’re viewing. Some have tons of background JavaScript running which is very intensive.
I’ve been using my 2021 11” IPP for almost 6 hours now and it’s still at 81%.
That includes video calls, outlook, word, excel, some light web browsing and slack.
Are you able to post a screenshot of your usage?I charged it fully this past Saturday. Screen at about 50% brightness. Since Saturday my screen time is about 5 hours only doing web surfing. I’m now at 14%. Isnt this very low for 5 hours of web surfing? Thanks for any input.
Mine wasn’t not with MK anyway.I confirm that 12.9” M1 has much better battery than 2020 too.
Interesting. So I get about 5 hours of SOT and my battery is at 14%. However, this is over a five day period. Is it possible that the five days of standby (I used about one hour each day for five consecutive days) drained the battery? So here is my battery life, it is now 23:50 so I am heading to bed. During the day I used my 2020 iPad Pro 11” to stream some live television (mostly news) while working, also played some music and YouTube throughout and then did quite a bit of web browsing and checked some personal emails. Ending the day at 52% with almost 5.5hours SOT, funny this is I have just realized that going by my usage habits I seem to use my iPad the most on Fridays, lol, so this was the best day to test. I typically charge it when I go to bed even if it’s at 80% or at 20%.

Yup, I feel like the iPadOS 15 Low Power mode was made specifically for M1.It has to do with the M1 being power hungry.
Everything is worse for meI am finding vastly worse battery life on my 12” 2020 Pro since iOS14.6
I too have noticed a drop in battery life with the latest iOS - same for the watch. iPad? I charge it once a week so really hard to gauge (using it for reading device only). It's not a LOT worse but noticeably less than 14.5 imo.Everything is worse for me

That's nothing. My M1 is so power hungry it wirelessly sips energy from me. (are we inside a Monty Python sketch?)True, the M1 is so power hungry, it even sips power from the 2020 iPads.
Could very well be, depending on where it is sitting, what you were doing in those hours and if it is looking for signal sometimes (mine is a WiFi only model). Do you have an LTE variant of WiFi only model like me?Interesting. So I get about 5 hours of SOT and my battery is at 14%. However, this is over a five day period. Is it possible that the five days of standby (I used about one hour each day for five consecutive days) drained the battery?
