Just wanted to let people know who kept watchOS3 that 11.3 forces you to update your Apple watch. When I upgraded to the beta it said that the apple watch app on the iphone would no longer work so I had to upgrade. For those holding onto WatchOS3 like me you may want to skip the upgrade to 11.3.

wOS is a subset of iOS. Apple allows/supports wOS to be at least 1 back (wOS 3.x with iOS 11.0) during beta testing. However now Apple has added features in iOS 11.x that require wOS 4 in order to work. So there is no way to use a wOS that is not compatible with the iOS (or vice versa) you are using since they are so tightly integrated.
OS4 deleted a beloved feature of mine. I enjoyed the ability to view, choose and play music stored on my phone. 4 got rid of that entirely and you could only control whatever music was playing, but not actually change it. But apparently this feature is coming back in watch 4.3
Also OS4 was terribly slow and unresponsive on my series 1. Even the apple store guys were surprised how bad the experience was and offered to sent it back to cupertino for the downgrade.
Certain features of watchOS 4 is extremely slow on S0 and S1 Apple Watch.
