Anyone else have the scroll wheel stop scrolling in browsers after installing 11.4? M Logitech m720 worked fine before and stopped after upgrade. I use USB Overdrive to control buttons and everything else works fine. If I disable USB Overdrive the wheel scrolls but so slow as to be unusable, ie one full rotation moves the screen 1 line of text.

My Apple Mouse works fine.

Update: Nether mouse works in Parallels beyond clicking on the Windows Dock and the normal Apple Dock. Open a browser, no mouse clicks register.

Hello, I have the same mouse but I have always on 11.3.1
So I wait, how do they look. It was better to don't upgrade ?

Have a good day

I am experiencing exactly the same behavior on different brands of mouse. Both Amazon Basics and iHome USB mice scroll extremely slowly with the native driver, or not at all if USB Overdrive is enabled. Within the USB Overdrive control panel, it is clear that the scroll wheel is detected.

I'm observing the same behavior since upgrading to 11.4. Scroll wheels move the scroll position painfully slowly. For the moment, I'm working around the issue by mapping the scroll wheel to press page up / page down in USB Overdrive.

I'm also experience the same problem with my Logitech Anywhare MX2s mouse. It was working fine before the update to MacOS 11.4
Are you also using USB Overdrive? The bad scrolling behavior happens for me even when it's disabled, but it would be interesting to know if it affects people who have never had it installed in the first place.

I am using USB Overdrive. I see two behaviors:

1. USB Overdrive enabled for device, no scrolling
2. USB Overdrive disabled for device, slow scrolling

I agree that it would be useful to know if other users have experienced the slow scrolling case without having USB Overdrive installed.

Uninstalling USB Overdrive (rather than disabling it) fixes the problem completely. Guess that's the best option for now, though losing the additional buttons will be painful.

Edit to add: In the time it took me to write this, an update appeared on the USB Overdrive home page.

USB Overdrive 5.0 beta 7 now works in Big Sur 11.4.

The USB Overdrive is now working in Big Sur 11.4. I am still working with Apple to improve the scrolling experience, but beta 7 fixes a temporary issue with the latest macOS update.

I spoke with Apple support and they had me install Locitech Options, which completely disabled USB Overdrive and did not fix Parallels. Attempted to uninstall LO using their installer and it says LO not installed. Manually deleted LO and now USB Overdrive completely non functional.

I'm using a Logitech MX Master 2S mouse. On 11.5 Beta (used all prior BS Betas) with Logitech Options. No issues.

Looks like my previous comment is stuck in moderation because it contains a link. The USB Overdrive website says the developer is working with Apple to fix the scrolling experience, so it seems like this is a known issue with USB Overdrive under 11.4.

I'm using a Logitech MX Master 2S mouse and this exact issue is happening to me.

It literally just stoped 2 mins ago.. ughh..

any fix besides restart??

I finally got mine to work by installing the latest beta of USB Overdrive and deleting all the Logitech Options files manually:

/Apps - Logitech Options Apps

and the folders:

~/Library/Application Support/Logitech (the one you get in Go in finder while holding down option key)
HD/Library/ApplicationSupport/Logitech (On your HD volume)

I then restarted my Mac and Parallels' Windows VM and all is working again.

Good luck

Hello !
I should to Try upgrade ? or I can stay on BS 11.3.1 still few years ?
That's up to you.

Once I found the cause of the mouse issue, which seemed to center on the Logitech Options software, everything seems to work normally. Deleting Logitech Options completely and installing USB Overdrive's latest beta fixed the problem.

Other than the mouse problem I have had no other problems with 11.4.

Same issue here with Microsoft Wireless 5000 (combo name wireless 3000 v2.0), Rapoo9300M (combo) and Canyon (CNS-CMSW6G mouse) scrolling worked with no USB overdrive untill I have unfortunatelly upgraded from 11.3.1. to 11.4, now no scrolling whatsoever.

Have you updated any manufacturer's drivers?

I had the exact same issue (my MacBook Pro updated to 11.4 just last night). Installing the latest beta of USB Overdrive fixed it. Thankfully—I refuse to let Logitech software anywhere near my machine unless I have no other choice.

I found this answer in another forum and it worked for my m720 mouse (using Logitech drivers):

On your Mac…Go to

1) Click on the apple icon on the top left corner of the screen

2) Select System Preferences

3) Click Security & Privacy

4) Click Privacy tab

5) Click on Accessibility on the left hand side

6) Click on Logitech Options Daemon (I had two: Logi Options Daemon and Logi Options)

(if it’s greyed out it’s because you have it locked…click on the pad lock on the bottom right of the little window to unlock it).

Hope that works for those who had issues!
