11.6" MBA screen loose

When I lift up the screen from the closed position I do not Have to hold the body down to prevent it from coming up.
I have had any macbooks and have to say this is the most loose of all of them.
I have noticed in store some VERY loose hinges. And half of the 11's had loose hinges. My first macbook air (replaced once due to wobbling and fan sounds) had VERY tight hinges. Almost too tight. This one has looser hinges that are worse in my opinion because I like the very tight hinges. This one you kinda have to hold it down when you open it but not all the time.. Idk. Should i return it?
DO NOT stand for the loose hinges. These hinges are wonderful when they are tight. Take the machine to the store and tell em the hinges are loose. If you let this stand they're gonna think that it's fine with customers and we are going to have to deal with sucky hinges like the Late 2008 MacBook Pro (Which has scarred me, everytime I get a new computer the first thing I check are the hinges)

I thought they were trying to make the hinge not too tight so that you could open it without having to hold down the keyboard. Its a balancing act. Given how lightweight the 11" is, you can't make the hinge tight because you'd have to use two hands to open it holding the keyboard down.
The first 11" I had was pretty loose, but seemed fine. I ended up returning because I was undecided on the 11", but ended up eventually getting a second one which it tighter.
Neither seemed defective.

Check out the MBA commercial in which they show a 13" being opened. They have the hand model hold it down when they're opening it. Which gauges how tight the hinges should be.
If I open mine slowly, I do not need to hold it.
Both my 11" & 13" hinges are nice & snug.
I'd ignore the demo models in the store, they are subject to a tremendous amount of abuse.

It's not the that I'm OCD. When I pick up my MBA the screen opens up until it hits the stop limit of the display. I'm worried that I'm putting undue stress on the hinge.
After reading horror stories of hinge problems from the original MBA owners, I don't want to get the shaft.
played with a few at bb...noticed the 11s seemed lose and cheap compared to the 13s (and id prefer a 11)

Nobody's getting the shaft. The hinges on the 11'' are looser than on the 13" and this was noted in every published review of both notebooks. This includes the wobbly lid when lifting.
The hinges on the 13" are, I think, a tad wider and therefore can take a little more stress. Tighten those on the 11" too much and something will snap.
Price you pay for being thin and anorexic. I believe the standard answer on this forum is that the Macbook Air needs to be less of a girl and go and lift weights or something.

The 11" MBA is plenty strong.
The hinge isn't tightened as much because the keyboard is lighter. It would be annoying to have to pry to the two halfs apart. They try to make it light enough that you can almost open it without having to hold down the very light keyboard, meaning that the hinge isn't made too tight.
