Selling my macbook 2007 4GB 320GB 7200RPM harddrive for hopefully 500 dollars. Take that 500 dollars and by a mac-mini.

Then buy a 11.6 ipad. and that way there is no jealously.

For me, the weight and form factor. 4.7lbs for the 13" plastic MB and 4.5lbs for the 13" MBP vs 2.9lbs for the 13" Air? I haven't weighed my daily carry bag but it has to be at least 10lbs without a laptop. Toss in my 15" MBP and charger and it's probably closer to 16-17lbs.

I could care less that it isn't the latest and greatest in specs. I'd rather put less stress on my back and wait a few extra seconds for light tasks(if even) to complete than to carry an extra 2+lbs on my back. Yeah, it is my fault for carrying as much stuff as I do but every pound I can save definitely makes it worthwhile. I also plan on using the 13" as my primary computer and giving away my 15" MBP so having the bigger screen is my preference. To each his own

This poll is weak relative to the other one....and with the other one, with well over 125 people already voting, the mix between the 11" and 13" netbooks was almost 50/50.

And by "more computer" you mean more weight then you are right. Less resolution, less of almost everything a business user needs actually. The 13" MBP "Junior" model is obsolete by almost all standards as of the release of the 13" MBA Netbook.

I will finally be dropping my 15.4,2.6Ghz (Early 2008) MBP, 4GB ram, 350GB 7200rpm drive. Why?

It was my everything machine until I got my 24" iMac. In addition, my work has recently shifted to Apple as an alternative to a PC and I now have a 2009 MBP for work.

The Macbook Air will now fill my laptop needs along with my iPad for non-work stuff and yes some casual gaming just because it'll be great to see just how many places the Air will go that it was not necessarily designed for.

I liked the 11.6, but just felt I "wanted" a bit more so I tricked out a 13.3 and will see it in the next week or so.

13" vs 11.6 as only computer

I have been round and round reading all the posts and compiling information but I want to put this out and see what folks would suggest.

I have very moderate computer needs. I made the mistake of buying a 15" MacBook Pro i7 power house and I don't use much of its capabilities. My wife and I are both retired and we go mobile a great deal to Starbucks. Panera Bread and others. The 15" was too larger to bring so we got ipads. Works well until the 11.6 MacBook Air comes a long. Now I get flash when surfing and a full osx. So, love it. The problem is I want to have just one computer so here are the questions. Should I
A. Keep the 11.6 as my only computer. Sell the ipad and go with my iphone and buy an external monitor?
B. Get a 13" MacBook Air keep the ipad for going mobile and no external monitor?
I do however really like the 16x9

By the way my wife is going to take my 15" as she uses Aperture and imovie a great deal. Thanks for the help

The MBP does weight more, 5.6 lbs vs. 2.9 lbs. So for the 2.7 lbs, you get the ability to upgrade the ram, upgrade the drive, have an optical drive, a backlit keyboard, more ports and a faster CPU for less money. So yeah

I went in thinking no way I'd want the 11.6. I was going to get a 13 to replace my current MBA. Once I saw the form factor of the 11.6 and got a chance to use it, I was sold on the 11.6.

I ordered a 4GB 11.6 yesterday. Nice Mac it is!

To me, it seems that the 13 inch is at the lesser end of the specs list for similar systems (Macs and Windows PCs included) while the 11 inch is at the high end of netbook specs (Sorry Steve, but it *IS* a netbook).

At that point, you're paying quite a bit for the 11.6 screen(could have gotten a 13'' for not that much more) but I love tiny when it comes to portable.

I still think the 13'' is nice just for that higher resolution and not the glass display.

a speccd 11 inch with 4 gb ram anda 128 sdd

is the same price as a 13 inch with 128 4gb and 128 ssd, the thing is the 11 inch will see a bigger improvment next time around and if it retains the price point I may have to purchase that. for now the 13 inch was my choice.

I'm looking forward to seeing this poll with numbers similar to the other one. The other poll while interesting may have too many options.

I think another choice could be how many thought they wanted the 13 but after seeing it ended up with the 11 and conversely how many thought they wanted the 11 but after seeing it ended up with they 13.

13.3" for me. If I travelled a lot, I would probably have gone with the 11.6" but I think for mainly home use the 13.3" is a better buy for the money.

I'm keeping my maxed out MBP 13" for home/serious use, Mac Pro at work, and Mac mini as media center.

11" is replacing my iPad.

I think the choice could come down to

• Hoped iPad can be used as productivity device, it didn't deliver = 11"

• Wanted a Netbook to fill the gap in your workflow, but OS X is a must = 11"

• Hoped MBP were a bit lighter and easier for on-the-go & travel = 13"

• Wanted to have only one everyday-machine for all of your needs = 13"
