11" and 13" side by side physical picture. Anybody have?

Couple months ago I couldn't decide between 11 and 13 inch but when I went to the store to hold each one, I went with the 11.
It is amazing how light and easy it is to hold. I carry it around campus without issue. It is so darn light. When I use it in class on my lap, it is so light and easy to manuever.
When it is in my backpack, I barely notice it is there!
When I'm lying in bed watching movies, it is so light and easy to hold up. I am glad I went with 11 instead of 13. I think 13 inch ruins the point of a MBA.

If you want to use for long hours get work done then the larger screen is MUCH nicer to use.
I agree completely if you're not going to have an external monitor available.
I own both right now and am getting ready to part with the 13. When I've used the 11inch solely without an external monitor for long periods (4 to 8 hours a day), I've found the 11inch screen a little too small. However the size of the little monster has me in love enough and I have the option of an external monitor most of the time, so it is a tradeoff I am willing to live with.
I too am smitten with the 11", my wife and I both have a 1.6/4/64 that I just finished upgrading to a 360 GB OWC SSD each, both were refurbs,for $949 each.
We both drooled over them at the Tampa

Ours are a natural extension of the use we get out of our i Pads, so the 11" MBA's are like iPads on Steroids, with a bigger screen, perfect for our travels, where an iPad won't suffice
For sure, I've hooked my 11" up to a 27" monitor and it runs it perfectly.
I'm referring to using the notebook less an external for long hours ... on the go, or couch, deck etc ... I get more done, or at least find it quicker and easier with vector drawings, CS5 work, even long reports and emails the extra 2" makes a difference.
I have both too and like each so much I can't part with either. Last October I bought the 13" for me and the 11" for my wife. Shortly after she decided she'd like a larger screen so I ordered her a 13" ultimate....
That gave me two MBA's to use
They're both excellent machines, it's nice Apple offers two screen sizes ... or is it ... parting with one is hard to do. At least I use them both everyday, more than my Mac Pro! That's how I look at my 11" too. Compared to my iPad it is a good extension for 'doing' things rather than watching media/reading/surfing/gps etc..
When I travel; car, rail or plane my 11" gets a lot of use, not only over my iPad but in place of my iPhone and Blackberry too. That's thanks to the 11" Air! It's small, instant on, much faster to type on, instantly connects wifi to my iPhone and I'm running my business from my car or a seat in a plane.
That makes the 11" valuable to me. In my experience the 13" comes in as a 'little' cumbersome when comparing both under these conditions. I've used both on my travels.
But once I get settled in the hotel room and start working I'll sometimes find the screen is small and I'll think, damn I should of bought the 13". lol
Around my office, home office away from an external monitor I'll use my 13" only because of the larger screen.
I was wrestling with this myself over the last month or so. I have a mac pro in the studio for big work and my laptop is pretty much for surfing and light work. I'm a touring musician and the 11" just seems perfect for living in a bus and traveling all over the world. Seeing these pictures reenforces my decision...the 13" seems like an awesome machine for someone doing a little less traveling and who wants it to be a primary machine. Honestly I'd love to have an 11", 13" and an ipad, haha...that'd be excessive, haha.

How do the OWC SSD's work in them puppies?
I would love to move over completely from my 2008 uMBP to my 13"MBA but would need at least 360 GB to do it (currently with 128). I'm considering upgrading the SSD next year and selling off the uMBP. As of now I switch between them regularly with dropbox fulfilling the syncing issues. What did you do with your stock SSD's?

Am sorely tempted to get an 11" MBA myself but i'm currently using a late 2007/early 2008 macbook white, which is faster than the MBA and i'm just not sure about a potential downgrade for a huge amount of money :/

I'm curious as to where you got that configuration for $949. It doesn't even show up on refurb.me as a configuration that has ever appeared at the Apple online refurb store. They list a 1.4/4/64 for $929 but no 1.6. Did you get those somewhere else?

Are you basing that on anything besides the processor speed? Do you have test results that show that a 2007 MB is faster than a new MBA?
Don't be fooled by comparing a single number; the clock speed might be lower, but the latest C2Ds have more cache. The RAM is faster. The GPU is faster. And because of the SSD the MBA will run circles around your MB. The screen is a lot better. It's only a fraction of the weight of your white MacBook, and it's a lot smaller. All-in-all: well worth the money.
Also, for many people the CPU isn't the bottleneck. They need more RAM or an SSD instead of a painfully slow 5400RPM disk that really slows down their computer.
Just see how much CPU speed you really need with day-to-day things by checking the Activity Monitor. If you're constantly doing things that really depend on the CPU, forget about buying the MBA and go Pro instead. If it's idling most of the time at 1-10% you really won't notice much of a difference, even with a 1.4 or 1.6GHz CPU, except for the few times you do run something CPU intensive. But in that case you can probably live with that tradeoff.
The Geekbench CPU benchmark may be 15% slower (which isn't that much), but the SSD will make app launching and file handling a lot faster. Of course, you've also got portability and size. The screen res of the two are the same, so you have the same amount of screen real estate, just in a smaller package.
To use an 11" MBA as your primary computer is certainly possible as long as you don't do any proc heavy work. If you fit into this group of word processing, web browsing, media consumption, I'd say go for the MBA. You'll likely find it an improvement.

-GeForce 320 Run overclocked by MSI afterburfer (20% increase)
-and 1.86 CPU overclocked to 2.4
i'm going to play black ops and BF3. is that OK? not very often tho
if not i'll remove the air from my shopping list
btw, will a intel x-25 SSD and 8GB RAM make my 2.0GHz metal unibody macbook faster than a MBA 13" base w/ 4GB?
because it cost less monies than macbook air
