11" Macbook Air Trackpad Hard to Push?

My 11" MBA trackpad has recently become hard to push. I compared it to my MBP trackpad and it is a lot harder to push? Anyone having the same problem?

I never push mine - just turn on the option to "tap" to push.

Tap to click is a great feature that I also enable on any Apple laptop or Magic TrackPad. This is one feature that definitely does not work as well in the Windows world.

I agree that trackpads suck (exept apple's), but don't tell me the macbook's "tap" is better! the tap on windows works as good as it possibly can! although there no 2-finger tap, 3-4 finger gestures , huge trackpad space etc etc, but the tap is exactly the same on windows and mac!

i just think tap to click is annoying. if you prefer it then more power to you. i tried enabling it and i always found myself clicking on things that i didn't want to be clicking on. trying to navigate these forums is a good example. i can't scroll and not click something if "tap-to-click" is enabled to save my life.

The smaller trackpad on the 11" doesn't do it much favors, but if you click towards the bottom, its a lot easier to click. Same holds true with any Mac trackpad, but since its bigger its less noticeable unless you're trying to click towards the top of it.

Tap to click is only needed on trackpads that can't be clicked! That and secondary click are the two things i always have OFF on a Mac trackpad.

I guess you are entitled to your opinion. I have used many, many Windows computers where tap to click was sub-par. There are also a great number of Windows trackpads that have the features the you are mentioning above. I know some Windows laptops that have had these features as far back as three years ago.

Whenever this happens on my MBP 17" it is because the battery is expanding and getting ready to explode. Has happened a couple times and Apple replaces them fo' free (well out of warranty at this point.
