There was an older version of this poll here- I thought it made sense to update it now that Apple is marketing new screen sizes so the poll could be easier to find for new people who are looking for it. I’m also curious how the data differs now the larger 13” version is so much lighter/thinner than the previous 12.9”.

The 13 feels so light in comparison to my M1 12.9 it‘s amazing to pick up. Feels like the 11 inch I had some years ago.

Can only really say what the best is for me, but I switched from the 11 M1 to a 13 M4 and so far I have been really impressed with it, both as a tablet and as a ”laptop”. My iPad is my primary computing device (well, my iPhone would probably beg to differ) so for me being able to do a lot of both adequately for my needs is a must, and I am really digging having the larger screen in this form factor.

Still honeymoon phase so I leave room for the possibility that after a couple of days I will want to go back to a smaller tablet, but just typing this right now on the MKB it feels so good and natural I am really doubting that will happen.

The poll doesn’t make much sense, because it depends on what you use the iPad for, whether you only use it at home, and so on. It’s also missing the mini option (okay, it’s not Pro).

In the absence of any requirements and particular use cases, the base iPad is still the appropriate recommendation.

Having a 2018 11 inch pro and trying both of the new ones in store, the 13 is definitely the more impressive device but I don’t think it’s nearly as good as a tablet as the 11. With the Magic Keyboard on it’s definitely better but if you want that, you are probably better off with a MacBook.

For tablet uses like reading news articles, annotating stuff, and playing games using touch controls I prefer the 11”, for more laptop use cases like document editing, watching content, and drawing I prefer the 12.9”. I had the m1 12.9” so I decided to try the 11” again and I’m really liking it, especially with cellular built in.

I’ve never had the 12.9”/13” before, because I always thought it was too unwieldy, but after trying it out in the Apple Store yesterday, I decided to go for it.

It’s much lighter and more comfortable than what I remember from previous store models, but we’ll see how it goes. I ordered it for store pickup from Best Buy and won’t get it until next week, so I’m just preparing for it for now.

The new screen looks pretty amazing, though. It makes me want to experience it on the largest screen possible. I really hope I can still comfortably game on it, since I’ve really enjoyed gaming on my 10.9” Air 4.
