Thanks in advance!

Oh wow, this is on the app store, it looks like a cool game, i see it was originally on the ps2 right?

I'm getting one in like 3 weeks, so could you tell me how well it runs on your air? What config do you have there? Thanks Any screenshots would be appreciated!

I'd be surprised if this doesn't run smoothly, since MW2 runs well even at Ultra settings.

11" Air, specs in sig.

BTW- this game was originally on iOS ;)

Screenshots are available in the App Store listing...

Hey, i'm going to get the MBA 11" soon, and I thought, would the 0.2ghz jump from 1.4 - 1.6 really make a difference? I'm thinking staying at 1.4 and upgrading to 4gb of ram instead of 2 because that WOULD make a huge difference. thanks!

The diff. between the 1.4GHz proc and 1.6GHz proc is 14%. Benchmarks show that the performance difference is also around 13%. Battery life difference is negligible (around 6% lower on the 1.6 model).

If you plan on playing CPU-dependent games and tasks then by all means go for it. Maybe it'll add 1 or 2 FPS? It certainly won't make the machine worse.

Do you have $100 burning a hole in your wallet? If so then go for the upgrade. If not then forgo it- it's not going to make any difference in day-to-day usage.

4GB RAM upgrade is a must though if you plan on gaming.

(read this test by Anandtech for a slightly more technical comparison between 1.4GHz/2GB to 1.6GHz/4GB)

By the way, I might buy this game tonight and will post results (if someone else doesn't first lol).

Just about playable on a mbair 11inch ultimate on native res. and quality on low.

Pretty ok counterstrike look a like game, so i just would suggest buying cs:source on steam.

Didn't buy it yet. Didn't realize it was nearly 500MB (my internet is dog-slow)!

That was unexpected, coming from a machine that runs mw2 smoothly at native/ultra settings. I probably won't be buying it then :(

Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; U; CPU iPhone OS 4_3_1 like Mac OS X; en-us) AppleWebKit/533.17.9 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/5.0.2 Mobile/8G4 Safari/6533.18.5)

That's just what I was afraid of. Just like Samuari Vengance.

That's too bad.

I had an 11" air and was not successful at getting MW2 anyware close to playable at native/ultra.

Is there a trick?

do you have 2 or 4 gb ? That might make it the decisive factor.

Very funny...A MBA running MW2 on ultra settings?
Even a 15inch MBP JUST manages to run MW2 on ultra settings.

do you mean MW2? If yes, what settings?

Native resolution? Highest graphics? And what framerate, about 20? 30? thanks

I myself do not have it, but my friend who has a 13" MBA played it and was easily getting 40-50F PS Native Res, Ultra settings.

By the way, I just bought this game (Modern Combat Domination) and I'm easily getting 55+ FPS. This doesn't lag at all. And I have it set to high quality at native res (1440x900).

The MBA is VERY good at playing games from what I've seen so far. I've played Portal 2 (at native res, 2xMSAA, trilinear filtering, high settings) on my MBA and was getting 40-50 FPS, I've played MW2 (native res, ultra settings) on my friend's MBA and gotten 40-50 FPS, and now I've played Modern Combat Domination (at native res, high settings) on my MBA and am getting 55+ FPS.

This thing really amazes me with its ability to play games. :)

Also, this is on a 13", 4GB RAM, 128GB SSD MBA.

I'm not using the default boot camp drive drivers, rather the latest nvidia drivers from LV2G. Not sure if its thats making the difference. Try it for yourself I guess?

Not joking, not a figure of speech. Native Res, ultra settings, 11" ultimate Air. 30+ FPS.

Well thats good, although I don't want to install bootcamp etc, I just want to play the games available from steam or the app store.

I'm happy to know the slow processor is overtaken by the 320's power!

Also, in my previous post where I gave a bit of info on all of the games that I've played on the MBA, I forgot to mention that all of the games were ran on Mac OS X 10.6.7, not on Windows through boot camp or anything, but downloaded through either Steam for Mac or the Mac App store, and played on Mac OS X 10.6.7. :)

So if I already bought it for PC can I redownload it for mac you think?

Excuse MW2 from that post, that was tried and tested on my friend's 13" MBA running Windows through bootcamp, but all of the other ones were ran on my 13" MBA running Mac OS X 10.6.7.
