Hey folks, long time lurker here.

Picked up my 11” Pro yesterday - it’s a beauty alright, but just want to check something with you all, as I haven’t owned an iPad in many years.

Holding down the power button... doesn’t bring up the slide to power down. Is this normal? It strikes me as odd. Sleep / wake by button works fine, obviously it turns on, and I can shut down by selecting it in settings.

So the button seems to work... just that long hold doesn’t register.

Am I being dumb or is it a defective unit?

Thanks!

Working as it should, same as iPhones now.

Restart your iPad with Face ID
  1. Press and hold the Top button and either volume button until the slider appears.
  2. Drag the slider to turn your device completely off.1
  3. After your device turns off, press and hold the Top button again until you see the Apple logo.

Quick tap volume up, quick tap volume down, press power button. (I wouldn’t know that except that I watched a video a day or so ago.)
