I went with amazon, free tax and ship and I deal with amazon often so i felt better there. Also, macmall apparently does not take returns on apple products so that could be a concern. Either way its a good deal.

I would recommend Amazon just because I have never dealt with MacMall and I have heard bad things about their service!

I was under the impression that Rev A has serious issues with heat distribution that can lead to core shutdown when e.g. watching youtube videos?

Thanks everyone! I went with Amazon. Just placed the order. And I used my brothers Amazon "Prime" membership, which gave me overnight shipping for 3.99. Can't wait!!!

Go Ebay. $200 from MSN, no tax, free ship. I got mine from Ebay. New and loving it.

eBay ends up being the same price but without any return policy ;)
On the other hand, you get 30-day return policy with Amazon, but I am not sure about their restocking fees if there is any!

edit: Amazon's restocking fees are 15%

You can't buy anything from eBay. When you buy off eBay, you're buying from some individual, who may or may not be legit. Caveat emptor!

This price is only in USA. I can`t find cheaper macbook air rev A in EU. Some ebay sellers reduced price but how can I trust that? Is it possible to get some dead pixels or not working devices?

elninom: I can get you one and make sure that it is perfect and ship it to you, but you will have to PayPal me the money first and I have a 100% feedback on eBay. PM me if you are interested :)

Just got my rev. A from Amazon and.... It is perfect! Have been using it for about an hour. Installed all the updates. Screen is perfect (much better than rev. B). Played a few youtube videos for about 10 minutes and fans haven't kicked in and it is not that hot. For the price, the Rev. A is totally worth it.

Thats great you like the Rev B. I loved mine, but the screen on mine was horrible. 5 dead pixels and the horizontal line problem. I returned mine and thought I would wait a few months to get the HDD based Rev. B, but decided to jump on this deal. The screen on my Rev. A is much better than the Rev. B I had. But I agree on speed, the Rev. B is much faster. I don't need that extra speed, so the Rev. A is perfect.

I like the fact that you are liking rev A more than B which makes me think that you are being wise not cheap since you have had both :)

Would you please let us know more about your comparison. For example, how would the temps compare?

I also have had A and B

A temps 50-81 fans always fluxing from 1800-6200 and any stage gos to 6200 easy.
B temps45-60 no fan noise at all 2400 and silent, no core shutdowns and no need for cool book :)

You got lucky with the screen though :p

Even people without the lines, are complaining about their eyes getting hurt which reminds me of my iMac

On the other hand, rev A is killing me where core shutdown is like a nightmare but for some reason I am not much interested in rev B so I might wait till rev C :(

The rev A does run a little hotter, but it is not as bad as I thought it was going to be. The fans have barely kicked in at all, and I have tried to get the fan to go full speed. Rev B is better overall, but not with the screen issue. I am glad that people are getting fault free screens, but it does not seem to be the norm. (though, it could also be that only the people who have the horizontal line issue are posting on macrumors and the fault free screen people are happily using their air. I was just one of the unfortunate ones to get a faulty screen). If my rev B had a good screen, I would have been SO happy with it, but now that I have the rev A, I am very happy that I saved about $1,000 and have a computer that is perfect for my needs.
EDIT: And I have not experienced a core shutdown yet. I will update if I do.
