iPod 12.3.044 64 bit Won't get CD song info

My brother is a PC guy... Anyways, he's really frustrated that when he puts in a store bought CD into his drive, he gets a message "Information cannot be found". If he puts the same CD in his GFs Mac, the information appears almost instantly. Any ideas?
