After updating iPad Pro to 12.0.1, then hoping the problem would be fixed for 12.1, it will not power on after a full 100% charge. The low-battery icon is shown whenever the power button is pressed.

I need to press the home button and the power button simultaneously a few times— each time the low-battery icon shows up before the Apple icon finally appears. Then once the Home screen shows up, battery icon on the upper right hand corner shows only 1% charge and shuts down. I have to go through the process of pressing the home and power button again to turn it on again.

Is this a common problem for all iPads, or just the 12.9 iPad Pro? I’d hate to visit Apple just to have them tell me my 1 year old iPad is outdated and get the latest.

Thanks!

Thank you for the suggestion.

There are others with the same problem after the updates, it seems (just checked the Apple forum). Apparently not letting it charge to 100% is the "fix"… which is ridiculous when there wasn’t a problem until the update to 12.0.1 - 12.1.

Don’t think it’s a hardware issue.

That's an annoying "feature" then. Hopefully it's addressed. I haven't experienced it on my 11 inch pro yet, so it's not universal....
