I normally sell my current iPad and then upgrade to the next version.

For my use I think I want the 12.9 this go around as the 9.7 was too cramped for multitasking.

My concern is I see way more 12.9 Pros going unsold this year and it makes me think because the 9.7 is the most popular size. I feel this will be the same for the 10.5

Any feel the same when they decided on which one or am I being ridiculous in thinking about resale at this point?

Thanks for any feedback.

Yes 12.9 has a much smaller market and therefore you'll lose more in the resale price as you try to find a buyer. If resale value is very important to you then definitely go for the smaller model.

It really is due to the upgrade every year(work needs) but the 12.9 provides a much better experience. I really noticed that this year with the amount of 12.9 that were available at crazy discounts.

I still need to try the 10.5 in person though to see if it's changed much over the 9.7

Yeah my first gen took a while to get any nibbles in a tech city,

If you're worrie about resell, 10.5" will absolutely be more mainstream

But i still say get what you want not what resell dictates,

No apple anything is a good resell investment anymore,

Easier said than done $200 difference down the road but I do understand what you are saying. :)

Yeah I mean definitely conside resell, and if you're worried about it ALWAYS go base wifi, or you'll especially get hosed

But in terms of size preference, get what you want or the savings in resell will be moot by having a device you dont really want to have. Apple is expensive already, if its not in the budget wait until there's insane deals (it will happen, IPads dont sell like iPhones at all or have the hype, people are happy with their dusty iPads in general)

If you still want to disregard all this, i say 10.5" but still if you want 12.9 dont let resell hold you back. It has a fruit on the back, it will re-sell itself anyways

Good info and really leaning 10.5 due to resale but I want to see how big it is compared to the 9.7 which was a little cramped for my needs.

It may be the perfect size now and resell will but much better than the 12.9
