I probably shouldn't be surprised but I'm very dismayed at the reaction to the Free Gifts that Apple is giving away.

An astouding number of people, who are unhappy with a free gift they don't have to accept, have taken to hammering the apps, books, and films with one star reviews in the App Store.

So publishers who agree to include their products are being punished because of spoiled brats who are miffed at that Apple isn't giving them what they are owed. This harms us all, as it makes developers less likely to want to be included next year. It likely makes Apple less inclined to offer anything at all next year.

Obviously, I'm not accusing anybody here. You guys are the good guys. In fact, you're so good you could take the time and leave 5 star reviews for the apps regardless of whether you like them. Just like you thanked grandma for those terrible socks. Because there no worse behavior than slapping someone and trying to burn down their house because you didn't like the sweater they bought you.

And if you must leave a bad review because you feel cheated, do it on Apple's gift app. Don't punish innocent devolpers.

Because of this I have been giving 5 star reviews for the ones I have downloaded to help offset those doing 1 star reviews. I might not like some of the free stuff but I also won't complain or give bad reviews. Nobody is forcing me to download anything and I am appreciative that they are giving away stuff at all. They don't have to and neither do people have to download anything.

Today's gift is a movie. Even if you don't like this particular movie, it's still by far the best gift yet.

A very good point. Today's movie (Hugo) is the only one I felt worth getting so far.

If people don't like what's free that day, just ignore it. Enough issues cause by people who do the bad reviews may cause fewer specials like this.

Even though Hugo is already in my collection, I'm impressed that Apple would give it as a gift. I think today's gift is a major step up.

I am assuming i can download the movie then transfer it to my pc correct? Dont want to take too much space in my phone

There are professional reviews on the apps, games, movies, books, and music being given away. If people choose to base their purchase on stars alone, then that is a fault that is theirs only.

But yes, there is a lot of people who think they're entitled to everything. That is the USA for you.

At least they are offering free gifts, which is more than most other companies do. I usually at least take a look at the apps and other freebies they dole out. You might actually find something that you like.
