i cant remember were i read this but i read an article about the amount of units that would be available come launch day, and it said that close to 12 million iPhones would be ready by launch. im having trouble believing this but if this were true i think that would be great. 12 million by launch i think would be more than enough to go around but like i said i dont think that number is accurate. How many units do you think will be available come launch?

I might believe ten percent of that number. It would take months to go through that level of stock, and no manufacturerer wants to sit on that amount of inventory.

With 2,000 stores having inventory on Day 1, and an average of 250 units per (nationwide, mind you), that's 500,000 units on launch. Even 1.2 million is a strech.

Nah, 12 mil is either a misread, typo, or first year or so projections.
