Hi all - have been absolutely loving my 12 Mini overall, and throughout the day, I’m almost always near a charging cable, so I haven’t even really had any battery gripes. The main difference i’ve noticed comes when I wake up in the morning.

I don’t charge overnight (just top off through the day), and have been losing anywhere between 2-6 battery % in the 8-10 hours I sleep. Do Not Disturb is on, all background app refresh off, in low-power mode, and no widgets or screen time enabled. I recognize this isn’t anything too extreme — and it’s something I can live with, but I just want to make sure it’s in line with what others are seeing on theirs in standby mode.

I came from a standard 11, and I always got a kick out of how I could leave it untouched for 8-10 hours overnight and see no real drop in battery. It makes sense to me that a significantly smaller battery would be noticeable in day-to-day use, but was sort of surprised by the standby drain.

Hoping others out there can share their experience for overnight battery drain on the Mini, it would put my mind at ease!

Thx!

I wouldn’t worry about 2-6%. I haven’t charged my 12 overnight and it’s usually at around 45%. When I wake up it’s at around 42-43%.

Appreciate the quick reply. I can live with and expect some sort of drain (these things aren’t magic), its just a bit more than I’m used to, and I at least want to make sure it‘s in line with others. I’m definitely the type to just assume I got a “bad one“ and then spend time worrying about it. ?‍♂️

If it’s normal, I won’t worry too much about it. Just curious what other Mini users are seeing too.

It’s worth noting I also have 5G turned off, though i’m not sure how much that matters since I’m on WiFi.

I have been losing 2 - 4% overnight (9 hrs) which is fine with me. I charge before bed.
Thanks for the feedback - sounds like I’m in line with you then. It’s something I can easily live with, I mostly wanted to make sure it wasn’t anything hardware related and that others were getting similar results. Would still love to hear anyone else’s overnight results.

My 12 mini had been losing around 10% overnight on average. Last night it lost 40%! And it has been draining faster than normal while idling today, even after a restart. The battery screen shows no apps in use overnight. The only thing that changed was that I installed the 14.2.1 update yesterday.

Is anyone else seeing an uptick in battery drain? The 14.2.1 update did include lock screen changes specifically for the mini...

That feels really excessive...

I stream Audible from my 12 mini to my 2 HomePods for about 10 hours while I’m sleeping and it really doesn’t deplete it by more than 20%, which I think is pretty good, because with my Xs it would be dead in the morning

Mine dropped over 20% last night but it is only on its second charge since new. Could it be Bluetooth? Don’t think I have 5g on. Amy ideas what I should definitely turn off, or be patient and see how it goes ?

Last night also dropped 20%, but during day has been much better after fast charge. Interesting to see what it does overnight, I have turned off most bg refresh and put in low power mode.
