Hello,

Can any of you fine folks tell me what exactly is used on a last gen 12" 1.5ghz Powerbook? Thermal Pad of Thermal Paste?
I am putting a few dollars into my PB (7200 rpm HD, max ram and a replacement glossy screen from Techrestore:D) and was wondering if it was worth using AS5 (Arctic Silver5) to keep the heat down a bit.

Thanks Bunches:)

No, not now maybe with a Daystar later on. I wanted to know because if it is paste I'll use Artic Silver on it if it is a pad then that is all I can do.

You have a picture of the CPU here

It uses thermal paste

Well I was hoping for that, however Apple Forums and my local repair shop indicated a pad. I guess I'll sort it out when I upgrade the processor.
Thanks for the input:)

From the picture you can see 3 big chips. The cpu uses thermal paste with the shape of a cross, the logic board (?) controller the uses a thermal pad and the gpu with more thermal paste
