I'm going to move from a 12" Powerbook to a MacBook soon, and I want to use the Migration Utility. Do you know if transferring Apps will transfer things like iPhoto which is non-universal on the PB, and overwrite the MacBook's universal app?

I can't imagine it would, but as some of you have had experience in this process, I wanted the definitive answer first.

Thanks

recently did the same thing, ibook G4 --> macbook. No, the assistant will not overwrite anything on the macbook; it will only move apps that are on the PB but not the macbook. Works perfectly. :)

Thanks so much, it was my only worry about the upgrade.

no problem, enjoy the macbook. :) I've never been happier with an apple purchase. They really are amazing upgrades over the G4 laptops.
