Rocketing through the sky!
i have had my 12" pb for about 6 months now and never have i had this problem. What happens is that during routine web surfing/msn chatting the dock/browser will freeze for a while then suddenly come back. I only have 512mb of ram but i am only running one or two windows plus msn messenger, its not an extensive load. It is really driving me up the wall because sometimes it stalls for 5 minutes before running normally again. Do macs have a defrag like pc's do?

Try repairing permissions from the Disk Utility and if that doesn't help, then maybe remove com.apple.dock.plist from the folder you find it in and restart. This will lose your Dock settings but it may help. If it doesn't you can put it back where you found it (replacing the newly created default version) and restart again. :)

If web browsing is sluggish- try emptying out the cache & resetting the web browser (thats what I have to do on occasion with Safari when it becomes sluggish on my G5).

A G5 with 2gb RAM sluggish whilst browsing! Are you sure its not related to your ISP?

My dual 1.8 never gets "sluggish" while browsing... I don't think i've ever emptied my cache. Sounds fishy.
