OK, so whats the deal with the 12" PB's? I want to get one pretty badly, just need to get some finances in order first. Just wondering if they are thinking of doing anything to the 12"ers, cause ill wait longer if they are going to, as to get the most up to date PB. Any news of what they would do? An upgraded screen would be awesome!!

No news. Sorry. I've been waiting for an update myself, as the screen on my rev.a 12"er is starting to die. Freescale now has dual-core G4s, in speeds above 1.5GHz, with integrated DDR2 memory controller, Gigabit Ethernet, and PCI-Express! Come on Apple, this product is just ready for PowerBooks! I want a new 12"!!! ¡¡¡¡¡¡¡I love exclamation points!!!!!!! :-D

I'm sure Apple would of rolled them out with the other PB updates if they had anything to update. I would buy now.

i am in the same situation iv been waiting for months for an update but seeing that there wasnt one when they updated the rest of the line they probly were never gunna release one or had problems with it. we probly wont see any updates on the 12 until intel. so i am probly gunna go buy one this weekend. you wont be disappointed with this machine.

I figure there might be some hardware limitations that are keeping them from updating the line, hopefully things will be resolved by christmas. They definitely need to update the 12", because the differences between the 12" iBook and PowerBook is mostly cosmetic at the moment. Although I did buy a 12" recently, so people must still be buy them regardless.

Is this whole Intel thing really worth holding out for? I need somethign soon, and I'm flippin sick of PC's, and I need something to take to class for lecture notes and stuff. Is the Intel thing going to bring in longer battery life as well? That woudl be sick.

In a nice place..
I love my 15", but I really want the size of the 12". I just will not live with 1024x768. I understand both sides when it comes to increased resolution, but I wish they would at least make it a BTO. I would jump on it ASAP, even with a 1.5G4 (more than enough to do what I want).

No, they don't. They are in the works, may even be available in small quantities, but are definitely not ready for mass market shipping in large quantities, which would be required for the PB. Why else would Apple not include them in the latest PB updates?

Sadly I think that the 12" is not going to be updated until the Intel Switch now unless Freescale gets their arses in gear and can actually deliver something before a possibly final PB update from Apple.

I expect the 12" to go the way of the dodo, after the Intel switch, perhaps replaced by a small form factor widescreen instead. Shame because I love my 12", its the perfect size for me.

At least they could get a better screen. As of now, they're way to dim.

The intels should have longer battery life, I don't know what article that was in but I read it somewhere.
