12 Pro Max completely freezes on The Verge

Hi all,

my 12 Pro Max, since I bought it, is freezing while loading the (vast) ad network in some Verge posts.

Already happened 5 times. It’s a complete freeze, needing hard reboot. Only happens when I reach the part of the page where the ads are loaded.

Ideas?

Try Lockdown and / or an ad-blocker?

I use 1Blocker and find that it does an excellent job at blocking ads, comments, widgets, and other annoying aspects of the internet.
