Hi, I have the previous generation Mini, with DVI output. I felt like trying to watch some HD (720p) stuff on my nice TV...

My TV has "PC" (ahem) input (It's VGA). It also has component, HDMI, etc.

I used the DVI to VGA converter to plug it in, and the resolution was set to some rubbishy little box in the middle of the screen.

The Displays pref menu doesn't have 1280x720... So I'm wondering, is this because it knows I'm using VGA, and doesn't do that resolution over VGA? If I use a DVI to HDMI cable, will i get the right resolution?
How do I do it? :)

Many thanks!

If it's available, try 1366x768.

Common PC input resolution, and the TV should be able to scale it properly.

VGA is garbage. You'd be much better off using a DVI to HDMI cable and plugging it in that way.
