Wow! That's ridiculously cheap! Unfortunately they charge at least $60 to ship to the UK. Would have been a nice option to upgrade to 24GB. :(

Crucial still wants 185 pounds for an equal set, which is about $300!

I just paid 260€ (350$) for 4*4 GB... And I thought it was a fair deal !

Haha, great deal, but they want 50$ for Canadian shipping... Ridiculous shipping price of the year award!

If you were looking for 16 GB would this be the way to go?

I was planning to buy from OWc but this is half the price nearly.... hows the quality though? I am not up to speed in this department but I have learned that cheap is ..... cheap? Educate me if you dont mind!

OWC is a good company with good service. they are not ram builders as much as middle men. so some of the price is middle man markup. at least with ram.

no your link is non ecc my link is ecc your link is value ram. With ram value ram is sh tty in general.

your link is made in china my link is made in usa.
in both cases chips are most likely korean.

the rest is chinese or usa.

superbiiz has a west coast base and has a more direct link to korean ram makers such as samsung and hynix. supertalent is their house brand most often it has samsung or hynix chips...
I make it a rule to never use any ram from any company marked value ram. I had more failures. I have purchased more then 60 sticks of ram from superbiiz only 1 bad stick. I have not used the 1333 ram I own a 2.8 2010 pro and have the supertalent 1066 ram in it.

I am tempted to buy this ram and sell my 1066.

The pictures may be just for illustration purposes only but do the product come with any heatsinks? If not, how are your temps?

well my machine runs cool as it does not do any heavy lifting. if you are a handbrake freak you may want the heat spreaders.

my memory slots are all around 95f all 4 of them;

1= 90f
2= 93f
3= 95f
4= 93f

In fact these are the 1066 ram..

I just purchased the 3 x 4gb pack of the 1333ghz cause I will most likely add the hex core on in a year or so. I have also seen that I do not use 16gb ram I never use more then 6 or 7gb ram. So a 3 x 4gb kit will do.

I put the 4 sticks of 4gb 1066 up for sale on ebay. I put a link in this forums classified. I think I am allowed to say look in the classified / marketplace for the link. Mods if i can't do that please let me know.

I have 4 sticks of this exact same RAM (purchased from Superbiiz) in my 2010 MP. Been using this RAM for around 3 months now and it works perfecto!

cheers

I just received my 3 x 4gb kit and to my dismay one of the sticks is DOA. I tried changing the sticks in the slots and it is definitely one stick. :(

I have to pay the return shipping. I guess you get what you pay for :(:(

I have the Super Talent 12 GB sticks in my new Mac Pro and it's fine. Mine says Made in USA on all 3 sticks. They were loose in the packaging when they arrived but all work well.

Why do you have to pay return shipping for faulty goods?

USA law may be different then UK

THE WORKING rate is :
3 for 3 for me
3 for 3 for a second forum member
2 for 3 for a third member. 8 of 9 confirmed working.

I also had the 1066 ddr3 ram 4 for 4 good sticks. I sold them on ebay and replaced with the 1333 ram.

Any one else care to report on these sticks?

The original link doesn't work any more and I can't find it using their search engine. It's too bad. I missed it first time around, but I'd buy some now.

What made you want to replace with 1333?

I am buying a w3680 or a w3690 and putting it in the quad 2.8

the geekbench boost should be from 9900 to 17,000. I know that it is only test scores but that is a big boost.

I will wait for prices to drop and do this in the summer. the ram at the price was worth buying. plus the buyer of the 1066 ram on ebay paid a decent price.

No, it's different RAM.

Your link is for W1333UX12G, which is not ECC, so this is not any special price.

Previously mentioned RAM is W1333EX12G, which has ECC, and at $134 was a steal.

poo... you're right. Now that my new MP is on its way and I am ready to buy this stuff, it's all gone (or stolen as you rightly describe). I guess its gonna be OWC again.
