Quick question (I’m pretty certain I’m right here)

I’m currently running 13.1PB when iOS13 is released officially and I right in thinking that I can remove the public beta, DFU and install the official 13 release. There shouldn’t be a problem going from 13.1 to 13 should there?

Correct. I did that a few hours ago.

Do not forget to turn of ‘find my iphone’ before flashing.

No. I don't think* you'll be able to use any backups you've made while on 13.1, however, as those are not generally backwards compatible.

*I've footnoted "think" as this may be the one time this might not be true (given the nomenclature of the build numbers). However, you should assume that you won't be able to do this.

Thanks for this, I’m going to do a full restore and set up as new.

Personally, I’ve got no problem waiting an extra 11 days on the 13.1 beta for the public release to come. I haven’t had any complete show-stopping issues, and from a backup/restore perspective, waiting it out just seems cleaner.

Agreed. I don't understand the urgency. 13.1 DB3 is fine on my iPhone 8, and I'm not inclined to waste hours setting my phone up as new. (I would have to unpair and restore my Apple Watch too, although I could restore it from a backup.)

And don't forget about the pain of having to set up all your cards again in Apple Pay. I wish there would be some setting to carry over the cards but it doesn't.

If I could triple like this post, I would! That is such an annoyance.

This exact thing happened to me last year and Apple pushed out the new phone update on release day. I seriously doubt we will need to wait 11 days.

I think I’m on the right track with this, but want to make sure. I’m using the 13.1 beta 3 on my iPhone XS Max and no issues to report. I’m planning to upgrade to the iPhone Pro Max tomorrow as I’m on a yearly AT&T update plan. My though is that I’ll need to install 13.1 beta 3 on the new phone then restore from an iTunes backup since the phone should arrive before the public 13.1 release. Can anyone think of any issues I’ll have doing that? Will the 13.1 beta 3 actually be available to the iPhone Pro Max when it’s released? Thanks!

It isn't available now, but Apple will likely make it available the afternoon of release day. At least that is the hope.

If you just download the iOS 13 GM IPSW you can do Option+Update on your Mac. I just did it and it downgraded from 13.1 to 13 with no issue. I was surprised. Figured I’d have to do a full restore but it does work. Zollotech also has a video on YouTube if you’d like more of a guide.

This broke the native mail app for me, but it’s fixable. Other than that no issues so far.

This bricked my iPhone XS Max using Catalina.

UPDATE: Plugged it to a Mac using Mojave and it worked. I'm back to iOS 13 GM now.
