Wanting to get a sleeve ordered for my 13.3" MBA that I am waiting for from apple. Looking to get something MBA specific to use inside my main bag. I am assuming most companies will continue with their MBA sleeves from the previous gen for the 13.3 as the size differences are small? Any recommendations? Preferably not USA based as they all charge ridiculous shipping to the UK, SFbags etc

Old Model is

12.8" wide × 8.94" deep × 0.16"–0.76" high

VS New Model

12.8"wide × 8.94" deep × 0.11" -0.68" high

So exactly the same footprint, but obviously thinner. I can't see manufacturers releasing newly sized cases for that amount of difference?

I'm interested to know as well, anyone have experience with sleeves? Which one is good?

I just want a simple neoprene sleeve for the new 13".

I'm using a Tucano second skin for Air on my rev A machine, which works perfectly fine. The sleeve is fairly tight on the machine, so I would assume it'd fit fairly well on the new version.

It was the only simple black neoprene sleeve they had at the store where I bought the machine, and it wasn't terribly expensive (something along the lines of $20-$30 or so normally; the guy at the store didn't charge me for it at all).

The only thing I can think of is the fact that it says "MB Air" rather obviously on the center of one side. If you're carrying it around in public alot, I suppose it'd be better to not announce it like that. Doesn't affect me personally though (I keep it in a shoulderbag with the sleeve only protecting the machine from other stuff and dust).

I an still using my old inCase sleve from my old 13" MBP for my 13" MBA

I've never used the incase brand before, I hear they are quite good. The reason I went for the one above is I like that it has no zip, and also the faux fur lining sounds like it will be gentle on my new baby. Think the burgundy colour will look good against the silver too:cool:

Is there a Paul Smith for the 11.6? I cant find one. Thats a pretty sleeve ;)

Secondly, I couldn't find the burgundy one you ordered, I only found other colors, I was looking for it earlier as well. Did you get it for the 11.6? If so, can you msg me the website. THanks!!

Sorry, both the burgundy Incase and Paul Smith Envelope are both only available for the 13.3" at the moment. I think incase will be fast to get the 11.6" to the market as they won't want to miss out. Paul Smith on the other hand, may take some time, if at all. (it is beautiful though isn't it lol :D)

Here's the link for the one I bought on ebay £13.50 inc P&P

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=180578579863

There are a couple of other sellers that charge slightly more, but nowhere near as much as apple's price £29.95 + Shipping (and they only have it in black)

I actually meant the Paul Smith ;D I see it costs somewhere around 125 Euro here... Damn!!

Ahh OK, its 79euros direct from apple.de in both colours:

http://store.apple.com/de/product/TW085ZM/A?mco=MTY3ODQ5OTY

PaulSmith.co.uk charge 81euros + 6 euros shipping, so apple seem the cheapest. Other sellers are more expensive as it's exclusive to applestore & paul smith themselves.

Blockers?

Yea you know, stuff that might turn up that might make me not wanna buy the Air anymore... Stuff like common defects, bad screens, bad hinges, manufacturing defects, noisy mainboards, core shutdowns... That kind of thing ;)

I have done that already for Apple ;)

The MBP 1,1 I used to have was horror... 2 Logic board swaps, 8 battery swaps... It still doesn't work right. It has a dead battery again (the 9th). I have given up on it... It also has the "whine" when it is idle - very annoying...

And with my current MBP 5,1 I'm also out of luck. The unusually slow wake up time you know about already, it also has the NVIDIA flicker of death and also a dying battery after only 250 cycles :(
