I am going to be buying the higher end MacBook Pro soon and most likely it will have Lion installed on it. I will use it for a day or two to see how it is running then I will upgrade to Mountain Lion. I am going to apply for the free upgrade as soon as I can so hopefully I will only have to wait three days max for my code to come in.

For those of you who bought the higher end 13" MacBook Pro after its June 2012 release, when you upgraded from Lion to Mountain Lion did you have any problems? How is everything running now?

Three days for a code to come in? I upgraded yesterday and mine came within a minute. The three day wait had probably to do with the problems Apple had with the redeem codes. Seems to be working fine now. And ML, it's smooth as hell! Love it! Especially the way it works under the hood with the RAM.

The only thing I personally don't like, is the lack of 3rd party apps useable in the notification center. But think we just have to wait till all developers will update their apps...

So when you applied through the up-to-date form on Apple's website, your code came in right away and worked the first time? A lot of people on here were complaining how they applied for their upgrade and they had to wait up to three days for a valid code.

Both emails came in simultaneously, within a minute. Matter of fact, I was kinda surprised about it, because I read a lot of those 'horror' stories on Twitter etc.

I see. Maybe the servers have less traffic going to them since its been five days since Mountain Lion released so everything is calming down and running smoother and faster. Was the install itself self-explanatory? How long did it take?

Apple's servers always gets hit when a new (i)OS comes out. Everybody wants to get the new stuff at the same time. I always wait a couple of days before I download the update. No errors, no slow downloads etc.

As for installing ML, it's really easy! Was my first time and no problem whatsoever! Just follow the few instructions, sit back and relax ;)
