Started after "upgrading" to 17.1.1 my battery life was cut more than in half. Sometimes the phone would heat up to where I would get the warning that it can't charge until it cools down.

I was excited to see the 17.1.2 update...

Now my phone will not save pics from texts, will not save pics that i take on the camera, hangs when opening different apps etc etc.

Does anyone know a fix for this? My phone has just turned to crap from updating.

This is not normal, as 13 mini should handle any iOS 17 version just fine.

I would try this:

Force restart your iPhone first:

If this fails, then:

1) The easiest - reinstall the latest iOS from an IPWS file, freely available from Apple. The instructions for it can be found at the bottom of each iOS 17 release thread on these forums. This way you would not need to restore anything from a backup;

2) If the step above does not solve your issues, you can restore your iPhone by plugging it to a computer. It will download and install the latest iOS 17 version. However, make sure to back everything up before restoring, either in the iCloud, on your computer, or both.

If you can wait a few days, iOS 17.2 should be released early next week, so you could try step 1) above then.

Thank you for taking the time to respond. Can you please point me a direct link for where the IPWS file is? I've been a member of this forum for 15 years but this is only my 5th time posting. I'm a bit lost lol.

Sure.

The direct link to Apple’s developer portal is here:

Before heading there, also check the installation instructions here. At the bottom of the first post there is an expandable section called “Spoiler: How to Install beta via OTA/IPSW [Guide]”. Click on it to expand and it has all the installation instructions:
