Hey,

Just wondering whether or not a 256GB SSD pulled from a brand new 13.3" Air will fit in the 11.6" model?

A few searches shows that the 256GB SSD is slightly thicker than the 64/128 SSDs, but no definitive answer of whether or not it'll work.

Thanks.

Thanks for the quick response.

I figured that too but was just wondering if anyone else was in the same situation as me (256SSD in 11).

Don't want to blow $300 before realizing it won't fit :p

Damn. I guess my only option are the OWC SSDs but witht the QC issues and all...argh.

I actually have installed the Apple 256GB (from the 13") in my 11". SSD fit fine with just a slight (millimeters) of bowing. Nothing to cause any cracks or even much pressure on the SSD. I did that back in November. Unit is still running great.

I saw photos of one, and it wasn't what I would call a great fit. It is actually a bit longer than the 11" SSD. I think maybe one could sand down the edge of the SSD card, and while it seems risky it's probably safer than bowing the SSD.

The eBay auction went over my budget a tad bit so I passed on that. Maybe after OWC sorts out its QC and I save up a bit more money :) Thanks for the help guys.
