Very interesting shows how easy it is to change the Hard Drive and how the thermal paste seems to be applied well unlike the MBP's

Also apparently MacBooks right click via the track pad can anyone verify this?

Yeah, I read in a number of places that you can right-click via the track pad. I think you have to activate it in system preferences first and after that you can right click by "clicking" with two fingers. I think the 17" MBP supports this too, apparently it works really well. :)

I can't believe people do this to new computers. In any case, good info that the thermal grease seems to be applied correctly. I guess Asus can make computers, huh? Also seems really cool that the processor may be socketed and thus upgradeable like the mini. Pretty slick when a year from now processors will be significantly faster. Good stuff.

Makes me wonder if a software update is in the works for the 15" MBPs (for the right click)....

What type of hard drive would you buy for a replacment?

Can someone link me to a hardware vender like newegg.com with supported hard drives for the macbook?

There most certainly is, but Apple are being bloody slow in keeping their early adopters happy! There is no technical reason why this isn't possible on the trackpad on the 15" MBP.

I mean talk about blurring the lines between the consumer and pro lines, then giving the consumer line something the first pro line laptop doesn't yet have!

Makes you wonder why you're paying twice the amount of the consumer product!

yeah, there would be no point in upgrading it for 20gb.. its not worth the risk.. 100 gb + makes it worth it in my opinion.

I see the processor in one of those pics, but what is that other similar looking chip next to it, also covered by the same heatsink? And I can't tell for sure from the pic, is the processor removable? That would be sweet if it's upgradable...

Edit: Oops, couple threads down answered the processor question... First question still stands, though.

I noticed that it's 7200rpm. Would that even work with the MacBook? It comes with 5400rpm drives...
