I know this is sacrilege but i have an urgent windows hardware question. i installed what is supposed to be a 320gb western digital hard drive. Here's a link if you need it.
http://www.westerndigital.com/en/products/products.asp?driveid=117&language=en
So it's detected, but it doesnt let me bypass the 137 gb limit. I have xp sp2 and there dont seem to be any drivers to be downloaded. i've heard things about having to buy a controller card. what do i do?

how old is the computer?
EDIT: found this information
In order to recognise hard drives greater than 137GB you need to have an ATA-133 IDE controller. That 137GB is the size limit for ATA-100 controllers.
you need to get a controller card like this one.

ah screw it. it's not worth the money. i'll just buy an enclosure and use it externally. thanks
