I dropped my iMac at Apple Service Provider yesterday to get the panel replacement. Today the Apple Service Provider called me saying that my iMac got yellow tinge problem and Also the black speck under the glass. He said he called Apple and told them that my iMac need a new glass as well. But, the Apple rep told him that Apple would not send the new glass sicne It has passed 14 days?? I have 3 years Apple service plan but that would be counted in this case. ??? Something wrong here.

More importantly, I got my iMac on Feb 1, Today is Feb 15. It's exactly in 14 days. How come?

The Apple Service Provider told me he would try fixing it but it would take some time since it's pretty big and stick with the glass very hard.

I'm worried It might scatch the glass after fixing it

Any idea?

Are you dealing with an Apple Store or a independent Apple service store? It might make a difference as to your level of service, especially if you have Apple care.

Have you called and talked to Apple yourself ? I was at 16 days when I called Apple about my screen and they told me I could send it back even though I was past the 14 days.

I dont know what is going on. They said they would not send me a new glass since my iMac has passed 14 days.

So, Apple warranty doesn't include the glass? Kidding me?

Apple Care should definitely cover the lcd replacement. 14 days is only to exchange / return the computer.

Sorry how are you still in the 14 days? The 14 days starts on the day you purchase, so day 1 being the 1st day and day 14 being the 14th day, you're now on day 15, being the 15th day...

Anyway, that's crappy it doesn't include the glass, why can you not go into Apple or send it to them? Service might be better.

You might want to give Applecare a call yourself directly. 14 days might be the limit for a full replacement machine or refund but Applecare means you are covered for ANY defect on the machine for the full length of the warranty, which in your case is 3 years.

The only thing I could possibly see them denying you a new glass panel for is if they are trying to say it was accidental damage on the user's part, which the warranty doesn't cover.
