Hey Everyone,

My company just gave me a new work laptop, a 2021 14" M1 MacBook Pro. It came with the 67W charger, which I know doesn't do the 'fast charging' feature, but I think will be fine when I'm at my desk at home.

However, is there a better 3rd party (Anker, Satechi, etc.) travel charger I can use with my laptop bag, when I am on the go? Bonus would be if it can do fast charge, as I could see some situations where that would be useful (Airports, etc.). I also know I could just pickup the 96w apple charger, but portability (weight) is a priority here.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I like the Anker Nano II series. Personally I use the 65W version on a 14 inch M1 Max and it charges it even when moderately stressing the system with intense gaming. It is somewhere between the size of the iPhone 5w charger and the iPad charger in size and works very well for travel.

I have both of the 65w and 100w HYPER gallium-arsenide (?) chargers for travel, but I haven't used them much yet. Just started trying the 100w on my new 16" MBP at home this weekend. It's a bit smaller than the Apple 140w charger that came with the 16", and gives two USB-C + 2 USB-A ports for charging all your Apple gear from just 1 plug. So far seems ok.

The 65w one is barely bigger than Apple's 20W USB-C charger, and has 2 USB-C plus 1 USB-A port. I'm not sure if the 65w has enough power for fast-charging the 14", but I suspect the 100w one would be OK, and as I said, it can also charge your phone, watch, and AirPods all at the same time as the Mac (eg overnight).

I'll also be ordering a 14" MBP this week, so I look forward to hearing the results of your survey going forward!

Good luck!
